Privacy Policy

The short version
FluentAI runs AI models on your own device. When you chat with a local model, your prompts, conversations, documents, voice notes and generated images stay on your device. We never receive them, store them or train on them.
The app does send some data that is not your conversations: crash reports, feature-usage analytics and, only if you sign in, your email address. If you choose an online feature, such as a cloud AI provider or the free starter chat, what you send goes to that service. This policy lists all of it.
Who we are
FluentAI is published by Readheights Technologies Private Limited, India ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy. It covers the FluentAI apps for Android, iOS and macOS, and this website.
What stays on your device
The following are stored only on your device and are never sent to us:
- Your prompts, chats and conversation history
- Model responses and anything the app generates, including images
- Documents and knowledge bases you add, and AI memory
- Voice notes, recordings and their transcripts
- API keys and server passwords you enter, which are encrypted on the device
- Downloaded models
Deleting the app deletes all of this. We cannot recover it, because we never had it.
What we collect
Crash and stability reports (Firebase Crashlytics): stack traces from crashes and errors, device model, operating system and app version, and short logs we write ourselves, such as screen and operation names. Never message text.
Feature-usage analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase): which features are opened and whether they work, such as a model loading, a chat starting or a benchmark finishing, with metadata such as the model name, response speed and message length. Never message text. Analytics uses an identifier the app generates for each installation, and Google derives an approximate location (country and city) from your IP address.
Feature flags (Firebase Remote Config): an installation identifier, sent when the app checks which features are turned on.
Device attestation (Firebase App Check, Android): a Google Play Integrity token proving a request came from a genuine copy of the app. Sent with the free starter chat and with benchmark publishing.
Your account, only if you sign in (Firebase Authentication): your email address, an account identifier, and how and when you signed in. While you are signed in, the account identifier is attached to the analytics and crash reports above.
Advertising, free Android and iOS versions only (Google AdMob): your device's advertising identifier, ad impressions and clicks, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. On iOS the app asks for permission to track (App Tracking Transparency) before AdMob can use the advertising identifier; if you decline, ads are still shown without it. Premium removes ads. The macOS app shows no ads and does not access the advertising identifier.
Purchases: whether Premium is active, recorded on your device. Our analytics also records that a purchase happened, with the product and its price. Apple or Google handles the payment; we never see your card or billing details.
On macOS, analytics, crash reporting and sign-in run only in builds where we have turned them on.
Features that send data because you use them
These send data only when you use them, and only to the service named:
- Free starter chat: your messages go to Google's Gemini model, through Firebase AI Logic, so it can reply.
- Cloud AI providers you configure (such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, OpenRouter or Groq), and Ollama or OpenAI-compatible servers you connect: your messages go directly from your device to that provider, under its privacy policy. They do not pass through us.
- Voice input: dictation uses your device's speech recognition, provided by Apple or Google, which may send the audio to them to transcribe it. We do not receive the audio.
- Web and lookup tools in chats and agents: search queries go to DuckDuckGo or Wikipedia, web addresses you ask about go to Jina AI's reader service, and place names for weather go to Open-Meteo.
- Model downloads: models come from Hugging Face, which sees each download request, and your Hugging Face token if you add one.
- Integrations you set up yourself, such as Mem0 cloud memory or MCP servers, receive what you send to them.
- Benchmark publishing: if you tap Publish after a benchmark, we store that one result on the public leaderboard: device model, chip, the model and settings used, and the speed and memory figures. It is not linked to your account and contains no chats. The app shows you the exact data before sending it.
- Product update emails: if you are signed in and change the email preference in Settings, your email address and account identifier are sent to Resend, our email provider, to record whether you want product updates.
How we use it
- To find and fix crashes and broken features
- To decide where development time goes, based on which features and models are actually used
- To turn off a broken feature quickly, without waiting for an app update
- To run the free starter chat and the benchmark leaderboard, and to stop them being abused
- To let you sign in, keep your account working, and email you about the app unless you have opted out
- To show ads in the free Android and iOS versions
We do not use your data to train AI models, we do not sell it, and we do not build advertising profiles from it.
How long we keep it
- Crash reports: 90 days, after which Firebase deletes them.
- Analytics events: at most 14 months.
- Your account: until you delete it.
- Your email preference: until you ask us to erase it. If you unsubscribe, we keep your address marked as unsubscribed so you are not emailed again.
- Published benchmark results: kept, because the leaderboard is public. They are not linked to you; email us with the run details to have one removed.
Deleting your data
In app versions that include it, open the account menu in the side drawer and tap Delete Account. This deletes your sign-in account immediately.
Otherwise, or to delete anything else listed here (including analytics linked to your account, or your address at our email provider), email readheights@gmail.com from the address you signed in with and ask us to delete it. We act on requests within 30 days.
Data stored only on your device is deleted when you delete it in the app or uninstall the app.
Your choices and rights
- You can use FluentAI fully without an account.
- You can turn off product update emails in Settings, or with the unsubscribe link in any email.
- On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device's settings. On iOS, you can turn off tracking for FluentAI at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On either, you can buy Premium to remove ads.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it.
Crash reporting and analytics cannot currently be switched off inside the app. We will update this policy if that changes.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to or restrict our processing, and to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children
FluentAI is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
Security and international transfers
Data the app sends travels over encrypted connections. API keys and passwords you enter are stored encrypted on your device. Our service providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under their standard data-protection terms.
This website
This website uses Vercel Analytics, Vercel Speed Insights and Google Analytics to count visits and measure page performance. Messages you type into the website's chat assistant are sent through our server to Google's Gemini model to generate a reply. Messages sent through the contact form are delivered to us by Web3Forms, and we use them only to reply.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page.

The detail behind this policy
For every analytics and crash-reporting category, which SDK sends it and why, see what FluentAI collects. To check for yourself that a local chat sends nothing, follow the offline verification procedure. Questions: readheights@gmail.com.
